Jew's make laws in Iran?!

I just thought I would hop on here real quick and say that I think it is very important for the idea to seep into our conscious as Americans, while we are being rev'd up for war, against ANOTHER country that hasn't attacked us, that within the Iranian Parliament there are Jews! I would never have guessed, and by the way that our elected peoples in our White House and Congress spit words of war and self-righteousness we would think that Iran has no room for Jews in Israel, let alone in their own country, voting on and making law within the halls of their own parliament! "minorities sit on all parliamentary committees, particularly the cultural one." So, anyhowI learned about this by clicking here. Which is a story about how Iran just past a law to make Iranian Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians to wear different colored badges. Jews would wear yellow, of course...Well, It turns out it's all propaganda printed by Canada's National Post, a Canwest paper. Canwest being the Great White North's version of FoxNews, or more precisely News Corporation. So the rightie snowbacks are in bed with our fascist rednecks! goodie! Do these people think we'll get to have a tailgate party at WW3? BBQ, booze, and good ol' fashioned competition for dominance! This year's secret weapons Ignorance and Religious Insecurities! Woohoo! It'll be a gay ol' time. Oh wait that's the next war...

Yet another thought train headed over the horizon

We live in a pretty fucked up world. We are trained from birth to be like everyone else, or at least act in ways that others expect. We throw away opportunity to be closer to the loved ones in our lives. We work as little slaves to the dollar, and expect the money to make our lives better. We have better relationships with our paychecks than our lovers, our children, our friends, our parents. And so do they. Because, that is what we are all trained to be, that is how human’s in our culture are expected to act. Money has become the god of our culture, and we are trained from an early age to worship, and not question. Just like religion, it has shaped our schools, our laws, our traditions, and our minds. Money makes for a shitty god though, and the bible says you can’t worship god if you worship money, and power. Money only makes those happy who can paint over the scratches in their damaged lives and not be bothered with what lies beneath the new sheen. But, this rant isn’t about money, no it’s about our fucked up world.
Money being just one cog in the machine. Perhaps grease is a better analogy.
Why do we humans just allow the destruction of our world to continue? Is it because we have rationalized it for so long now that we have based a bit of what we call reality upon our mistakes? Is it because we know that by analyzing our issues, personal, and universal, we can find a higher perspective, and usually an answer, and that we know to look into that huge cosmic mirror is a journey full of pain, full of guilt? Is it because along with finding a better way to sustain life on this planet, is finding a better way to live our individual lives. We know that power structures inhibit this. All the great prophets came to tell us that the way we were living was hindering us, was only a superficial existence. And still we hide. It seems to me that those keeping us from the greatest spiritual and life-enhancing lessons are those who we allow to guide us. As sheep allow a shepherd to guide them. The religions and governments are fat on the labor of those they rule over, and they have never seemed to like the masses to understand the teachings, to live whole happy lives. They can’t encourage people to truly live free, or people would do just that. A world of 6 or 7 or twelve billion people living free is absolute horror to those who understand only control and power. It’d be anarchy, and they will tell you anarchy isn’t a healthy way to run a viable economy. We couldn’t have all those people running around, playing with their children, eating meals with their family, and making all sorts of decisions about how best to live their own lives. Well, we couldn’t have that and keep going on the way we have for the last few thousand years anyhow. So instead we keep on truckin, keep on destroyin, until we get saved from ourselves, perhaps a messiah will come down to earth and tell us “hey you all sure fucked this planet up, good job, as a reward come with me to heaven”. Something tells me that’s not how it works. But what do I know, our culture didn’t teach me think for myself, and especially not to tell others my insane fantasies of a healthy planet, and an enlightened humanity. Maybe we can find a new vision of our future, maybe we have and we just have to have the courage to stop fuckin our world up.

does your brain ever hurt?

Sometimes our choices in life are beyond difficult, beyond reason, beyond sanity. Sometimes they are shrouded in mystery. Sometimes they hurt the ones we love, some times they have to. What do we lose by failing to stand up for our convictions, to do the things that hurt, even when we think the prize is worth the cost? What do we lose by not standing up? We can look around at our world and we can see the cost of our choices, the cost of forgetting what it means to be human, for failing to make the right choices, and failing in our responsibilities to ourselves, our species, and our earth. But, where do we look to see the damage done to our own psyches, and to see the damage our choices cause in others? Is there such a place beside our hearts? Is there a better test of who we are and the world we create than exists within our souls, and lingers between our relationships with our fellow humans? Sometimes our choices, though painful to make, are made in an altruistic manner. And sometimes we just think they are. What do we do when we have made a choice that causes a pain so deep, that cuts so sharp, but is ultimately necessary? We do what we always do, we recognize that life is a process, and that process is built upon choices. Our choices need to reflect our own inner truths, rely on balance, and “the middle way” taking nothing to an extreme, and hopefully, if we are lucky, our choices are built upon intent, rather than expectation. I am not sure why I sat down to type this, except to illustrate to myself the questions burning in my brain lately. Although it is more for me than for my 2 or 3 readers, maybe it can answer something for you. I do know that life is one day at a time, one moment at a time, and we have to do the best we can to create the reality that we wish to live in, and sometimes in order to do that painful words are said, ultimatums are given and hearts are sometimes broken. And sometimes, hearts like eggs when cracked open bring a bit of gold into our world that wasn’t there, wasn’t seen, or was taken for granted when we couldn’t see beyond its thin shell. And sometimes hearts like eggs are cracked from the inside, and life pops its little head out, and says “surprise!” Only time can give us many of the answers we yearn for as humans, and only our actions can guide us into the future, so that we may hear the answers. So our unreasonable, insane and painful choices do have within them at least the potential for a future that feels more real that our present illusions may sometimes grant us.
